Hope you don't mind this off topic topic but this is the best place I know for the advice I need.

My pontoon has thin aluminum fencing as all of them do. I would like to paint them myself and I don't think I could spray them to achieve a good smooth shine without drips. I will remove vinyl stickers and clean the panels with some good cleaner.
I am thinking of using a single step paint and rolling it on with a smooth foam roller. I will then "tip" it with a wide foam brush to smooth it out.

What paint do you recommend. I could use rustoleum marine paint I guess but would something be better.

I suppose I could spray it with a HVLP spray gun and tip it.

I am thinking that I could use a self etching filler primer on the aluminum and sand it down with a flat tool.

I would appreciate your help here.
