I am amazed that nobody threw up a picture of a 49/50 Merc with 57 Caddy wheel covers. Not full covers, but heres what I use to keep my nuts from getting dirty...
This thread got me excited about the concept again so I went back through my saved images to come up with a bunch of images related to thread....and yes I do know that a wheel cover is technically not a hubcap....but they're cool just the same...sorry if any are repeats...enjoy
Smokin examples kids, here is my 33 Chevy with 48 dog dishes and trim rings. Joe Cabrals Model A with 50 Merc dog dishes and chrome wheels and the fab 40's Chevy coupe sporting the 55 Olds. ~Sololobo~
Here a a few more. The coolest early ribbed moon shape single bar flipper--early Pontiac dog dishes with trim rings--55-56 Ford full wheel covers with bullet center--Three outstanding treatments that pay proper attention to the car make and style. Nice job kids!!~sololobo~
True...not a lot of hot rods with wheelcovers anymore. Scanning through my hot rod pics, these were the only examples I could find. Generally speaking, a '50s era thing...following the wires, and steelies with caps, right up until the introduction of the mag wheel. I like 'em on a car with the style of that time-period.
My National Flippers. I wasn't sure that they would look right on my 34 P/U but I think I'll keep 'em on.
Bought saltflat discs for my 46' Chevy coupe, was wondering if they'd look traditional with wide whites, after seeing some of these shots, I'm gonna go for it.
