That is just cool as all hell! Some people ask "why", but I'm glad you decided to go with "why not!" Keep us posted!
Well it was inevitable, the first full bodied HA/GR. That looks great btw. Neat little single seater, What is the HP going to come from?
I'm putting an inline chevy in it,probably the 235. I've got several different manifolds but am thinking a thickstun dogbone.
At first I was bumbed that I lost those tail lights at Rob's auction, but now see that they were meant for that car!! That thing IS a work of art!!
Damn thats too cool Dick, glad to hear your back at it, the progress is incredible. South Omaha Turds, Rock !!!!!!! Gary
Xderelict, First off, you're doing good there. A lot of progress since I saw it last winter. Second, since you are a So Omaha Turd, I think it is only fitting you give it a name calling your creation the "Poopmobile" instead of the Hoodlum Crusty would like that. HellRaiser See ya Sat night I'm driving too, if I can get the parts back in time.
"Poopmobile" I'd have to get a telephone booth cab, drive around and wave at everyone, wait, no, thats the popemobile, your confusing me.
Do you have a link to the early stages? Looks like you split up an old sedan to build that but I can't figure out what it was... Really, Who cares! very nice!
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161000&highlight=hoodlum+mock+up click on this link for the rest of the build.
Maybe I missed some earlier posts but I'd love an explanation of how the body was assembled . Obviously some old iron gave up a few parts , What and how ? Totoally nifty effort
that thing would be killer with an early jaguar inline six with 3 weber dcoe's. it kinda has an early indy car look about it.
That is amazing. That second shot looks like an old toy. Have you considered making wheel pants for it? Are you going to leave the frame exposed or add a belly pan? What are you going to use for wheels?
