I 've built quite a few cars over the years and have always done my own body and paint work in my garage by building a temporarily make shift paint booth out of vinyl plastic with fans and of course all of the proper safety equipment so I don't kill myself. I'm sure a lot of other members do their own painting at home and thought it might be fun to start a picture thread showing either the process or the results.

Delivered from Colorado on Super Bowl Weekend, been done since July 4th weekend, waiting for some interior pieces from LeBaron Bonney
I have never paid to have a car painted. I painted every one of mine in the garage. The truck and the Vette are lacquer, the Chevy is single stage urethane.
Hi there Moose: How do we know you didn't just PHOTOSHOP that car ? ...using your photoshop SuperPowers we have all seen so many times...LOL (great job everyone, seriously.)
I'm going to do this one on my own. I am trying to capture the late 40's race car vibe. I actually thought about brush painting but I think I will spray it but it will not be anywhere close to perfection.
My 33 Ford Pickup was painted by my grandfather right before I was born in his garage in 1991. A few pics of me in the cab under a year old in 92 and the pickup today with the same paintjob 27 years later.
Believe me if I could use Photoshop to really paint my projects I would do it in a heartbeat but so far I have only been able to get it to work in "Bit Land"
