Found it and a great resource book here

nope, from before then....Keith at Arizona Transmission Company (now Transmission Products) in Tucson. I stopped by and saw him last month, he's still hard at it

Here is a 55 Chevy gasser I just picked up. 350 Buick and turbo 350 trans installed by a real hatchet. The trans cross member is chicken welded directly to the frame. Lots of other scary stuff going on here like the brake line routed just above the axle. In the process of putting all of this stuff straight.

Bought a car once that I could'nt get the hood open. Ran & drove good, oil presure = good. Guy said it had an aluminum intake & Edelbrock carb. Drove it home 250 miles & me & a buddy worked on it for over an hour to get it open. The second catch had a bolt stuck through it. The motor sat at about a 20 degree angle towards the passengers side so the exaust manifold would miss the steering box. Called the guy up & he said he was going through a devorse & he had to get rid of the car in a hurry. OK, he has enough problems I'll re-engineer it.

I knew this thread would take flight.... Starting to feel real good about the spring and turn-buckle mod.
    :D

I would take that gasser and strip it to the frame after a good pressure washing. Nothing there worth using!
