Took the front Moon Eye type tank that was used for over flow off my 32 and want install one fog light on the left side, the problem is I don't want to install on the spreader bar, can't weld a bracket to the frame because it is power coated. I have looked all over the internet for a fog light mount or some good way to mount one and can't find anything about mounting, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated and maybe some pictures.
I've seen some that bolt through the frame like F-1 shock mounts. Quick Google image search, a lot of inspiration. https://www.google.com/search?q=1932+ford+fog+light&tbm=isch&tbs=rimg:CXntTsAh1OanIqABIUwbJHWgu23pJoiH1EovLoVYwFTrw1uzWMMyzBUOEVTeWotnnhsR6ZDKY2x6siLfmMaaeyQ65k32QVdiI6OKvY1Wc0tado0-t-VXc0Mma29t7VVdgfUktgeUh5t3eXkTkExICdG73WQUTjUflS0HywTL84vuff9I9SK_15UWXKjAn_16d8pU7NK3PRs5ds_1RZURHv0jUBcBF8pCxY41kJJMyoSCSFMGyR1oLttEVCu-FiTV6tVKhIJ6SaIh9RKLy4RUK74WJNXq1UqEgmFWMBU68NbsxHP3T2-E75h9yoSCVjDMswVDhFUER-xJH4qplhaKhIJ3lqLZ54bEekRwWHQ5i504isqEgmQymNserIi3xEZKSe4cAubmyoSCZjGmnskOuZNEVM2Hvsz3Q0BKhIJ9kFXYiOjir0RRD4_1VIvrDW8qEgmNVnNLWnaNPhFQrvhYk1erVSoSCbflV3NDJmtvEa2szu8hWsHeKhIJbe1VXYH1JLYR7j34vx9CbbEqEgkHlIebd3l5ExGZu7qU0rNz8SoSCZBMSAnRu91kEQjx_1-Z2HNexKhIJFE41H5UtB8sRPHbK2iU7sM8qEgkEy_1OL7n3_1SBHLk10aL9kJSCoSCfUiv-VFlyowEer2E6ZuBNJzKhIJJ_1-nfKVOzSsRRYQHuViQs1sqEglz0bOXbP0WVBFpr-RHVUykSioSCUR79I1AXARfEf0RlfYsZrSFKhIJKQsWONZCSTMRaYTlO4hzQLk=&tbo=u&ved=2ahUKEwiN7O-CiP3cAhVp4IMKHY_wChMQuIIBegQIARA_
^^^^^^^^ thanks helped but wondering if anyone had one made made at a machine shop or has someone modified a short a headlight stand?
On my T bucket from years ago, I used one of my great-grandfather's old wrenches. Granted it was welded to the frame (I didn't know any better back then) but the fog light bolted onto the other end.
has anyone used a frame mounted headlight stand and is there a shorter one over the standard 5 to 6 1/2 inch high ones
It wouldn't be too hard to fab a bracket that clamps over the frame rail to mount the light from. I'm thinking something like this, sorry it isn't drawn to scale. It could be rubberized inside so as not to harm the frame and grip better. Basically 2 pieces with a weld in stud on the back plate and a slot in the top plate for adjustment and installation. After seeing my highly technical rendering I realize the 2 bolts would hit each other unless the light flange was locate either a bit further out or higher up. Just a rough idea. Not exactly Popular Mechanics kinda stuff.
What do you have for bolts going through the frame that you could bolt a fabbed up bracket to the inside behind the spreader bar? There probably isn't room between the spreader bar and the frame to slip a piece of 1/8 in but that is a thought. or what holes are left from the Moon tank brackets ?
