Went for a cruise with my buddy from up the street and his steel 34.
A few more.
Cool pics. Good to see it on the road. Nice '34 too.
Thanks. Its a ton of fun but the 34 stole the show for sure.
The '51 looks great Eric!
Thanks. I have a few things left to do but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am very exited to finish my tudor after I build my gasser style Chev.
Very nice. Here's mine.
Looks good. What's under the hood?

De-arched the rear springs still needs 1.5 out of the front and a small C notch in the rear.
The front. Added some 54 cad caps and a nicer set of tires.
I also made these skirts using a set of three rib skirts for the outer edge and an old pair of flared foxcraft skirts for the center. I did not like the shape of either pair so I came to the conclusion that this would look better. They still need a little dolly work and finishing.
I bought this 50 merc grill surround a few years ago and have been staring at it ever since. Today I decided to pull the trigger, I had to sell my wife and dog to buy this so I was a little scared to start cutting.
I will save this for my chopped Tudor.
Lots of trimming.
Wow... I didn't realize that the merc surround was such a close fit.
A little mock up before tomorrows weld fest begins. The hood will be shaved with rounded corners. The kaiser floating grill will need some fresh chrome as well.
The amount of material removed is minimal Ryan, just a little trimming in the right areas.
Well, it looks gorgeous... And I love that you are gonna run the Kaiser bright work. This one is shaping up perfectly.
Get outa town with this thing!~
(Don't misunderstand. That's GOOD!)
I'm diggin the new surround and grill. If you decide to part with the old grill setup, let me know.
car looks great, good luck with it................
Thanks, and will do.
I have a Merc' grille surround too, which i am going to use with my shoebox.I havent fitted it yet with the fenders and i was sure that i have to narrow it.Looks like i was wrong, thanks for sharing that pic!
No problem, no narrowing required. I should have some more pics up soon. So you can see where to trim. The hood lip will require a small extension that I will work on while rounding the corners.
I like it too. Used a modified Chevy in my 51.
I am sure that there will be a big help to me from your photos in the future
