Was cleaning out some stuff of my Dads and found some stuff I need some help with. I think I know what they are just need some confirmation. The first I believe to be 3 rocker arms from an Ardun OHV conversion head, (2 exhaust and 1 intake) next the hubs I believe to be Ford Banjo (possibly truck) with axle/hub retainers and aluminum mount added for a disc brake rotor, next is an Eelco style small fuel tank mount and last I think is a steering arm from a cowl style steering set up (most likely from a FED) As always any help is appreciated.
Thanks for the replies so far. So it looks like everything mentioned so far is what I thought it was. On the banjo hubs it looks like they were machined down to have those aluminum hats added to mount a rotor on for a disc brake. I remember him having Hurst Airheart disc brakes on a couple of his older FED’s but this Banjo stuff was already retired from use before I was old enough to know what was what. I remember him using Olds/Pontiac and then Dana differentials. I found a couple rotors that looked like they would go on that hub but they didn’t fit it. He has a shit ton of parts but he hasn’t been very organized in his later years so everything’s scattered here and there. He’s 87 now so his memory isn’t what it used to be. I try to get him to tell me some stories every chance I get from his early racing and hot roddding days. I’m hoping to be able to gather all the good stuff up and get it sorted out so nothing gets lost or thrown out unknowingly. He’s been a bit of a hoarder so there’s a lot of stuff to sort out. Thanks again for all the help. Maybe @alchemy or @chickenridgerods can I.D. the Rockers? He said they were spare Ardun rockers and he says there should be some more spares around. I’d really like to get that all found and cleaned up for proper storage. Thanks again fellas.
MIke I will send text my buddy Matt a few pictures of the rockers or have him join the conversation. He has a few Arduns in the shop right now and his Dad Cotton might be able to help as well.
A quick check to verify the rockers is to measure them and check the ratio, original Ardun rocker arms are an extremely low 1.2-1. Looking at the photos they do look like Ardun parts.
BTW thanks John, and all of you guys for the replies so far. I'm still curious on the Banjo rear hubs with the aluminum hats on them. Was this a typical set up for a disk brake on FED's? I believe most or all of these parts to be off of this car.
The rockers sure looked like Arduns to me at first glance. Hopefully my little bro will confirm soon. The tank mount is homemade, but should fit Moon and/or Eelco tanks. Depends on the diameter.
The spare LH/RH exhaust rockers I have have 3166 and 3249 part numbers on their sides, respectively. I don't have any spare intake rockers and my heads are in my parents' basement, but the 3rd rocker certainly looks like one of those.
