Hello all, I'm new here and I need some advice. I recently purchase a project someone got tired of (55 Ford pickup) so I thought I would take over because the price was right. I decided I would take some measurement of the frame because it had a volare clip that I did not install and noticed the wheelbase is off 1/4 on one side. I dont think that would be a problem but I decide to do a cross measure to see if it was setting in the center of the frame and that was off 5/8 now I thought this could be a problem. Any experts out there? What do you think I should do? Go with it? Chop it out and go with a GM Clip? or Find a new frame and go with a MII or some other kit?
Hi Bruhman34. Is the Volare clip the one that just bolts to the existing frame? I saw a bolt on torsion bar setup a few years ago that seemed to work pretty well. 5/8 off is not a lot but you always like to get it as perfect as possible. 1/8 would be better. I'm not a fan of clips. I like to keep the frame and suspension as original, but upgrade it with a dropped axle, late shocks, good steering box, etc. pigpen I see you've met Mr. Rules Monger. You may meet Mr. Macho and Mr. Rude also. Ignore them all.
