i have a 1945 Seagrave Fire Engine that I need some parts for. Seagrave told me the truck originally game with a V8 and the current V12 that’s in it was installed after 1945. Hoping someone can help me ID what motor it is based on some pictures. Any help is appreciated.

Based on some other info I’m thinking it’s either a 400 or 500?

Try a Pierce-Arrow that's where the V12 Segrave came from

Too easy. It’s a 507 seagrave Series 66E. It’s not a Pierce Arrow engine, but a third generation from the original 1932 Pierce engine. Absolutely nothing is interchangeable. Burns gas and makes heat better than horse power. No parts are available, and they are very expensive to rebuild. I have several in the shop. Not very valuable, but interesting.

It’s post 1956, and it’s common to see them in earlier trucks. Ignition timing is very, very difficult. Be sure you have proper lubrication to the twin distributors or you will be calling me for parts. I have lots of spares if you need anything.
