forgot to mention seems it was glued to the shaft and it came loose. I cut off and its been running a few years fine without it but always bothered me as to what it was and its purpose.
So when it broke loose from the rubber. I just cut in half and removed. I certainly don't feel any vibration but hell its a hotrod so can't really tell. Any idea if it will damage anything??
Removal of it won't hurt a thing....only reason it was there was to prevent miniscule vibtration complaints from old fuddy-duddys with overly sensitive buttocks. Courtesy of the Noise/Vibration/Harshness Team at Ford. Has absolutely no effect on parts life or durability.
NVH classes at Ford. Should be a required class in high school. Everyone building a car should take the class.
