  1. Pulled this frame out of some trees the other day and am trying to figure out what it is from. It has parallel leaf front and rear suspention and the front axle has wood spoke hubs on it. It had a Model A frame stacked on top of it. 20190704_145304.jpeg 20190704_145320.jpeg 20190704_145333.jpeg 20190704_145348.jpeg 20190704_145403.jpeg

  5. X2 on the 20's Chevy frame- pre '28 since it doesn't have front brakes.

  8. That would be interesting. I have a 34 chevy (not related to this frame in any way) and a later 30's Chevy cabs. The later 30's (not sure of the year) is what I was planning to put on the Model A frame I found with this one.

  9. I have to agree with Mac, it looks like a mid to late 20's Chevy frame. HRP

That doesnt look like the frame on my 33. It looks very similar to the 29 chevy frame I had, so its probably somewhere around the mid 20s.

Not ‘20’s Chevrolet, the front hubs have eight bolts to hold the wooden spokes in, Chevy used six. Or, could those be Chevy truck hubs someone put on a passenger car frame?
Also, regarding those that suggested a 1930’s vintage, by then GM was using spindles with yokes for the king pins, not front axles with yokes as in the photos.

Plymouth was intro’ed in 1928, was any manufacturer still using spindle mount front wheels at that time?

  20. Well, maybe I'll use this frame then instead of the Model A frame. Might as well keep a Chevy on a Chevy .

  21. You can rule out Willys frame...doesn't look like the early ('33-'36) or later('37-'42) frames.

"It had a Model A frame stacked on top of it."

Well us amateur archeologists therefore know that it has to be older than a Model A, since it was underneath.

  26. It does look GM-ish, probably mid to late 20's. Depending on what you plan to build, does it really matter as long as the metal is straight and good condition?

  27. No, it really doesn't matter. It is nice/fun to know what they are though.
