Headlignt mod for 53-55 F100...maybe 48-52 F1 too.

My recently posted tech week article Eye Surgery for the 53-55 F100 grille sparked some conversation with some F1 owners. They tell me that the headlight buckets and trim rings are the same from 48-55 which leads to the question......Can the 56 trim rings be used on the 48-52 F1?

Have any of you F1 owners tried the 56 headlight trim ring in your grille? I think it might look good in the 51-52 but not sure how it might look in the 48-50.

I can't speak for the '56 truck headlight doors, but we tried something similar:

This is a buddy's '53. There were a couple of '56 pass. car headlight doors kicking around that we thought would look good on his truck. Took a wee bit of modification (adding a "peak" behind the bezel), but I think it looks great. The truck ones would be a more logical move, but you use what's around - right?
