We are taking our first "big" family vacation while I'm off for spring break. We are headed to Ft. Walton beach through Nashville and down 65 and I think we are going to be close to Dothan when we get off 65 and head towards the beach. Are there any cool hot rod shops we could stop by that would be somewhat on the way?
A cool stop in Nashville is the Lane Museum. It has a cool variety of cars and motorcycles too. Real close to I-65 too. http://lanemotormuseum.org/
Not sure how far it is to Palmetto, But there is a place there called Slicks Garage. He has some interesting things going on there.
That will put you just east of Destin/FWB. Hwy 231 will run you through Dothan. Below Dothan you hit I10. I am just off I65 at exit 181 before Montgomery. peace
55 runs you through Andalusia, don't believe it's any faster & is a bit longer. You'd still turn onto 85.
Why Ft. Walton Beach? To me the best area in the Pan Handle is between Destin and Panama City. We have a vacation home 20 miles west of Panama City and 38 miles east of Destin. The area is called Panama City Beach. Worlds best uncrowded beaches. Pristine sugar white sand and emerald water. I'd stay away from Panama City and Destin as its too crowded and touristy. Go to VRBO.com and search for rentals. I'd recommend Inlet Beach. You won't be sorry. The best car event is Cruisin The Emerald Coast in early November. Its a week long event.
Good idea! My wife gets our reservations through VRBO everytime we go! We love the Destin area! Only place i really care to go in Florida!!
