I do not know how to sugar coat this:) I really like your car and your attention to detail BUT a California black plate has the letters first and then the numbers as in CID 426
Your combination would appear on the blue plates....

No sugar coating needed! I am not trying to pass these off as original plates. They just make the car a little bit more fun to look at. Besides, "CID 426" just doesn't look right... :)

I love it. The only thing I would do would be jack the front end up to match the back, but that's just me. It still has "the look" the way you did it. Hell, if it was mine I'd be eyeing the wheelbase and thinking about moving the backs forward 15"... but I'm unstable like that. Looks great, enjoy it.

Front wheels are 15x6" with 225/70R15 BFG tires.
    Rear wheels are 15x7" with Hurst 28 3/4" x 8 1/2" x 15" slicks (capped on 235/75R15)

Don't think I didn't consider building a one-of-none altered wheelbase wagon! Unfortunately, such a job would have been well out of my budget.

I might have gone higher in the front if the car had a set of fenderwell headers installed. I considered this for a while, but it wasn't quite the look I was going for. I went through hundreds of vintage photos and kept coming back to one of my all-time favorite Super Stockers for inspiration (see attachment). This is the stance I was ultimately shooting for:

Yes I have! I was able to find most of the decals I was looking for from Muttley, Tom Peterson (utahtom on ebay), and Ken Mann (Pastlane Auto). I am still looking for an original Jardine Headers waterslide decal. Any leads would be appreciated!

I drifted away from the H.A.M.B. for awhile - it’s been a long time since I last posted anything. I just recently started coming back as my brother has finally jumped into the hobby and begun work on his “bucket list” 29 Ford hot rod.

I’m happy to say I still have my wagon (16 years now!) and it’s running as strong as ever!

Man, thanks for bumping this back up, one cool wagon you have there, done right! I missed it first time around, probably buried by the time a got on board in '11. Sure scratches my (closet) Mopar itch. Well done!

hey twin brother - it’s actually a ‘28 5 window standard coupe ;) And yes your beautiful wagon is pretty hard to beat -
Yet to see another ‘65 like it in any shape / condition or style on the road - miss riding around in yours with you ... now, find me a nice vintage 3k tach for my early flathead!
