Hambers in Serious Accident after Louisville

We enjoyed hanging out with them in the hotel lot Saturday night.

After spending most of a week in the hospital, Tell Meg she ain't missing anything. the food is actually of lesser quality than t.v. dinners.

and bring me a roof and a roll bar...and a 5 point harness. perhaps a helmet and a firesuit.

 

Saw them having a great time cruising around. They received lots of "hoots and hollers" as it cruized by my hotel with a car load of girls in it.

 

sounds like it was a scary scene. Megans in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

Just returned from Lunch to find this thread. Amazing that there wasn't more injuries from the description of the accident. I just met Megan at the Goodguy's thing in Columbus and she sure semed like a nice person.
Our thoughts and prayers will go out for a speedy recovery, I understand she has a project to look forward to. The best therapy known to man for a car person.

Frank, here is a link to her truck project which she'd been working on feverishly for almost a year. We spent quite a bit of time chatting about it on Saturday nite. I'm sure it won't be long before she's back at it and has her truck on the road.

I heard the bad news last night. Im just glad she wasnt hurt worse. I had a great time hanging out with Megan, Matt, and all the others. They are awesome people.

Get well soon, and if there is a lesson to be learned, please pass it on. I also drive a modified with no roll bar and have often wondered about a flip. Therefore I do not have my seatbelt on when driving it, I would much rather be thrown than trapped in it with no roll bar.

those things are just like riding motorcycles for the most part. hell it would be rough to take a good lick in any old car - notice how the dash boards are hard instead of spongy.

 

Bikers take this risk ever day.
Roll bars are ugly and I would never install them.
Thank you guys for not making this a seatbelt argument post.
Matt had a fellow come up to him and mention she should have had a seat belt on.
He told the fellow that if that was the case. They would have been looking at a body attached to what was left of that T bucket.
His insight struck me in regard to our hobby…
He said …..what we do is a sport and like all sports there are risks involved. Even new cars had rollover issues. When we accept the responsibility of making a 60-80 year old car roadworthy we take calculated risks. All the parts we work with are either rebuilt or used and inspected.
We are not rocket scientists who knows exactly every nut and bolt and in what order they are assembled. We all take risks in this hobby.
Isn’t that part of the excitement…. Getting a car roadworthy, making it from destination A to B without breaking down and not having a catastrophy of some sort.
No news from Matt as of this afternoon.
Which means good news…….
I plan to get some pics this evening.

Glad to hear that she is going to be alright. I live about 20 minutes from just about all the local hospitals in Louisville, if there's anything that I can do to help while they are stuck here just tell them to have one of you guys that talk to them shoot me a pm. I'd be glad to help in anyway that I could.
I had a friend roll a 33 Chevy sedan many years ago...somehow their car managed to shift into reverse and lock the rear wheels with the same out come...with all the rough ass roads maybe something just moved. Again, if they need anything try to lety me know.

Thank God she wasn't hurt more seriously or killed. She's a beautiful young woman with a lot of years still to live.

Thank God also for quick response and the flight to the hospital.
