I am in a safe place, but last night I was driving along I-55 about 30 miles south of Springfield, when I started to notice a vibration. At first it was slight. Then suddenly it got bad like I was about to have a blow out. I hit the brakes and headed for the shoulder and started to throw what I thought were rubber pieces. I quickly figured out they were not tire pieces when I saw gears and drive shafts laying in the shoulder behind me.

Everybody is fine, but our truck is not. I was driving an '03 dodge 4x4 diesel. About 2/3 of the transfer case does not exist anymore. It literally blew apart the housing, and threw parts everywhere. We were picking up pieces for several minutes. I will try and get some pics of it up later.

Now for the problem I face. I am supposed to be up in Battlecreek Michigan for work today, and I have to get myself, my equipment, and a trailer up there.

Nobody in this town will rent me a 3/4 or 1 ton truck that I can find. Does anyone out there know of someplace that would rent me a truck thats heavy enough to handle a 16' enclosed trailer full of equipment?

Its looking like I may have to rent a car, and drive into St. Louis to find something like this.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Thanks palosfv3. Looks like we are just going to wait until my boss gets up here with another truck. So now I get to sit around all day in a hotel room in Springfield. Anyone around today?
