You must be too young mate! I remember the X-51 from the old small (little pages) Rod and Custom magazines that I bought as a kid.

Down here we were ALWAYS forgotten about and behind the rest of the world. We were lucky to get sealed roads, electricity, running water, sewerage etc.:rolleyes:

Hey! I was buying them in Adelaide, starting in around 1960. Of course they were about three months out of date by the time the ship got them to Oz. If you want to see them they are in the archives at the Birdwood Mill national motoring museum as I donated them when I moved to the US.

That Plymouth concept Tornado sure looks a lot like the Ford concept Muroc?

  12. Notice the styling clues are a lot like that of the Lincoln Futura. The headlight treatment and, rear fender top vents. If you look at the concepts cars and compare them to the cars of the same period. It's easier to appreciate their styling. 2128.jpg 2129.jpg
Compare the Futura to the 54, 55, Ford's and, Lincoln's of the day. It's one of my favorite Concepts. I loved the DREAM CARS as a kid!:) Ron.....

1965 CRV-1 (Centaur) The body was made of Cycolac, a product of the Marbon Division of Borg-Warner. The car was assembled by Centaur Engineering of St. Claire Shores, Michigan.

The CRV eventually became the AMT Piranhas and Man From UNCLE cars.

In the 70's-80's my brother worked for Borg-Warner in Oxnard CA. Cycolac was produced and pelletiezed for injection molding companies that made items such as the old corded telephones. Strong stuff, don't ever remember a dial phone breaking.
Now back to our regularly scheduled photo topic.

You can see the Cougar 406 in action in the 1963 Jack Lemmon comedy Under The Yum-Yum Tree.

This is what I got from Google Translate:
    The station wagon with allure
The ideal for the hurried businessman, the angler and the hunter
Information about this car and possible conversion of your own Mustang:
    N. V. Harlescheme Auto Centrale...
