Judging by the fact that it has 10 bolts holding the rear cover and by the large plug on the left side of the spur gear housing it is a Winters.
48... What's your question ? I've got a Winters, Championship Heavy Duty, in my 54 Stude wagon. Been there a few years, no problems. Mike
I noticed that myself. A friend of mine just bought this car and they're trying to figure some things out. Can't show any pictures of it cause it's too street roddy.
@Mike VV DAMN !! The wagon is beautiful. Could not see that without at least telling you how cool I think it is
Nice buggy! Really nice! Truck arms and a triangulated sliding lateral locating link (I assume it slides???). If I had room in the Whatever I'd plaigerize it.
The fact that the builder made a huge miss by mounting the exhaust to the rear end would make me very concerned about other things on the car, such as proper grade hardware, etc. Best to go over all the steering and brake components with a fine tooth comb, checking clearances, torque, etc. Looks as though the e brake lines are draped atop the upper 4 bars?
Thanks Dave - Yes, the wishbone has a sliding link. If you look at the center, you'll see the center tube, a white piece and then the outer tube. The white piece is a nylon bushing (one of two) to keep the center tube sliding freely. So far, it's not broken and still holds the center...on center. Mike
I haven't seen this car in person (just pictures). So I really can't answer your question. I did ask about exhaust mounting and my buddy said that the builder incorporated a flexible joint up by the tranny on both sides. Bill
