Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mac the Yankee, Jan 15, 2011.

  1. Please post any pics/links/info on this car- Rich Venza posted a pic of it in a thread tonight and it really struck a nerve with me!

Thanks for your help and input- Bill (Mac the Yankee)

  5. Yup- I love it!

Really trying to find some good pics of how the interior is set up, under the hood, and the gas tank area.

Build pics would be a HUGE help!

  6. Rick,

Do you know what the wheel base is?

How long is the body from the rear pan to the cowl?

  14. Thanks again guys!

I know someone had "evening" pictures of it at a hotel during Bonneville, but haven't been able to find them yet.

  17. Thanks for starting this thread Mac. I've been takling with Greg on Facebook for a couple days, but he's a very busy guy and hasn't been able to give me much info.
He did say that it was built in the 50's as a sports racer ala Old Yeller, and he has run it at Laguna Seca. As can be seen in one of the photos above it has a tube steel frame which would be pretty advanced for a 50's built hot rod, but not for a dedicated racer. Flathead power of course, and all Ford running gear.

I, and a bunch of others here, sure would like to see the chassis sans body work. It looks to be to have a '29 Murray cowl and just a bit of a '29 roadster rear trunk/quarters.
The knock off caps seem to be the reproduction Veda Orr units.

man, the more you look the more you see. Love the sunken panel in the hood with the beads around the carb openings.

  27. Rich, Rick and everyone,

Thanks again for the pics and info- this thing has been gnawing at my subconscious sine I first saw pics of it in 2008, but it wasn't until last night when I saw Rich's post in another thread that it really got to me...

Let's just say that I'm getting some really good, "bad ideas" :)
