Got me an A roadster

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by no6, Aug 5, 2012.

  1. Picked up a 30 roadster yesterday and I got extra parts with it, she is rough but it had a frame and title. I don't know when I will start it but I'm gathering parts in the mean time, I need all the sheetmetal and two good doors, stantions and a usable gas tank so keep me in mind. I'm gonna put a B model banger in it I think. I have a 51 flathead and a new schroeder cowl steering box I am willing to trade for equal parts if anyone has any. I may do a build but I need to get my Hemi together for in my 34 Ford.

I'd say it's a good start; it's not channelled and the floor subframes look pretty good, You can go any direction. Banger with a 3 speed and Columbia on '35 wires. What about fenders?

Nice looking roadster project. I searched hi and low for doors for mine and just ended up buying Brookvilles. All new, with hinges..........perfect, never rusted, never patched. Kinda weird having them, almost all the model A parts here in New England are Swiss cheese or super pricey. Good luck

  12. I have started with less and worse, that dosen't scare me. I don't want to run a hood or fenders and I'm not sure if I want to run the 40 wheels or the 17" spokes I have. I will probably put a T5 behind the B motor just for the hiway.

Great start! Having good inner doors is a big plus, you can reskin them. I worked on mine today, used a good botton from a rough door to fix the one I've had for years. Bob

Thanks but I liked the nonflashy cars at the invitational, thats the way I want to go.

I have been following your build and I need more parts. I think if I can find another inner I will buy skins.
