so I failed to make the Roundup again, this year the transmission gave up before I even got to the state line. Well Friday I finally got the new transmission back from the shop. So up she goes... but it's all dark under there. so light her up... one out one ready to go in. There they are... Put her in and get to connecting stuff.. don't forget to fill her up... but alas, what should have been easy wasn't, the transmission shop decided to give me a different tailshaft housing, and I don't have any regular TH400 yoke laying around, so I had to swap the housing from the other transmission back onto the new one. The old one was a regular ST400, the new one is a SP400. Hello switch pitch. Just had to wire the switch up for it now. But she's back out and on the road...
ST400 is basically the first TH400, the SP400 is the same thing but with a dual range torque converter. 12 volts to the solenoid and it increases the stall by about 1000-1200rpm.
Any one need a switch pitch?I bought a rebuilt one for a project and then sold the engine.Make a heck of a deal on it
I'm betting if you put her in the classifieds with a price you cold sell her. Probably a bit easier than tagging it on a thread like this.
