Got a tire question, I'm looking at different front tires for my 34 I'm running 195 15's right now but want to go with something more trad looking. The 195's I got cheap and local so that's the reason for running them currently. My front rims are 15x6 and I want to stay with those rims, any suggestion's? Firestone F560's? Bias 15's? Whats the smallest/skinniest tire I can run with the 15x6 rims I have?

I'll try to take a pic of some cool looking bias Firestones I have tomorrow. Forgot the size at the moment. Nice old time tread and sidewalls

I had 6.70-15s on 6" wheels all the way around on my roadster, I liked em!

I'd say you could go with just a taller tire, and keep your front wheels. A '60s-style rod doesn't need too skinny of a tire.

I've got 500-15 BF Goodrich Silvertowns on My 15x6 wheels and they look great(on My 60 Camino turned fenderless rod), got them from Coker, and they mounted easy too. Von Doc

i've had some 165's on 6's.....usually like to have a 4.5 or 5" wide rim

  11. The skiniest tires you should run is 6.00x15. But I've seen guys run skinier tires than that.

Here is a repro Firestone 6.70 x 15 tubeless laying next to the car which has Firestone 5.25/5.50 x 16's. I agree that a 60's rod would not have skinny tires in my area. Skinnys showed up in the early 70's around here. I do not like my skinny ones but they were free. I also don't like the modern tread design...the 6.70 x 15 tread is very cool.

The other pic shows some wood blocks stuffed in between the beads to 6" at the bead...(but just in one area). Hope you can see that 6" will puff it out maybe a bit more that you wanted. Still will look OK compared to a VW early 5.60 or VW later 6.00 15"

You would think the later VW 6.00 x 15 would be better, but it's way too skinny looking as well as looking really puffed up on a 6" rim.

These 6.70 x 15's are slighty used and measure 17.25 approx. diameter.

I know...I know....not trying to open up the bias/radial debate, but you're planning on radials since that is what is on there right? Check out trailer tires at your local farm and fleet or whatever. There cheap and typically have an older style tread pattern.
