Technical Good video of a Flathead build.

    I just came across this video. It's a buildup of a 170HP naturally aspirated motor.
     
  2. Good video,,,,,but didn’t it sound a little “noisey “ ?
    Was that lifter noise,,,,,I wonder what the valve lash was set at ?
    And it seemed to have noise as soon as it was fired,,,,,,I believe I would recheck that lash .

    Too much noise to run for me, would have checked further. Maybe twas the fuel pump rod?

    educational for me.

    maybe loud because there was nothing around it to absorb the noise?

    Thanks for posting that video. Wonder what that build cost the owner?

    The small air cleaner was astonishing.

    Don't know the build cost, but that Scat stroker kit is over $2K !

    Noise wise, my flatty makes that noise too, and I've double checked the valve lash.
