I figured that I had better switch to a new post before the mechanical beast told me I had too much on one post. Now, where the hell was I?? Oh yeah, In Auburn at Custombuicks work. Here is a shoebox under construction for a customer, the drawings and the car under construction. This car is sectioned 2 inches in the rear and 4 inches in the front, an interesting stance. I have to upload some more pics so please stand by. BB
This car is sectioned 2 inches in the rear and 4 inches in the front, an interesting stance. This is the buck that was built to make a one off Alfa Romero roadster in the spirit of the closed cars. 1931 Buick Cabrolet, the front is a little too OT for this forum but it is a beautifull car nevertheless. Love the tires and stance on this roadster. That's it for this morning, hopefully some more tonight. BB
Bob It is raining here too. Just so you know what you have to look forward to. At least is it rain and not white stuff. Doug
Bob, Glad you and Maggie had time to stop by and see us, you two are having a great trip that I dream of having the time to do some day. Hope your stay at The Emerald Queen was good and you will have fun at Morrisons and The Lemay Museum. Keep the updates coming and drive safe on your journey home...Alan
Bob if your still around on oct. 28th their will be a H&E breakfast at the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife at 9am and i would be glad to buy you breakfast if you showed up! pm me if your planning on being around.
Good morning from Beautifull Downtown Ellensburg Wa. I really ought to change the thread title as we are now headed back east. Yesterday we visited our friends Art and Craig Morrison and were given the 25 cent tour by another good friend Brock. They make all of their own housings and brackets for their frames and stub kits. This is a first gen camaro frame almost ready to go out the door. Here is one just like it would come to your door. Craig and Art working on the truck for SEMA that must be done in 2 weeks, looks like they will make it. This was a rust free local truck that was just perfect, the battery box cover was still functional. The next project is this really solid Zephyer (sp). The guy's next door sell a lot of these huge tires for earth movers. Couldn't resist the photo oppertunity. As you can see, step and a half still has her boot on but she is getting a lot better, almost healed up now after only 2 weeks. This is the part that was the most interesting to me, bending the rectangular frame rails. We were then treated to lunch at a really neato harborside restaurant and then did the LeMay museum and high end used Packard dealership. Film at 11 BB
Couldn't let you know as we never know where we are gonna end up. We are still here though, at the Best Western, just going down for breakfast and then hitting the road Eastbound. BB
Good evening from beautifull downtown Bozeman Mt. One of the things on my diminishing bucket list was the new LeMay Museum in Tacoma. TAAAAAAAAA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are in the lobby, a Kurtis, the first one. Edsel Fords Roadster in the better color, it is stunning in person. A view from the balcony, there are 5 different levels. I will post what turns my crank but can't possibly post all of the cars there, it's almost 500. I have never seen a 59 with the trunk painted in a contrasting color also, usually it's only the top. Duesenberg J model front and center in the main window overlooking Tacoma harbor. The building is right next to the new Tacoma dome. Strange looking 42 Caddy, it's one off. Remember when these were cheap, well not really cheap but at least affordable. JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD !!!!! What has been seen, cannot be unseen. !!!!!!!!! Time to go to dinner, more to follow. BB
Looks like we're all headed east bound and down with the old man and his girfriend. Keep the pictures coming.
Bob, I don't even know you, but you are starting to become my "American Idol". Thanks for sharing, I am traveling via your pictures.
Were all living vicariously through you on your trip..Some great stops. Thanks again for sharing... Is this you standing by a tire at the Boeing Factory? how can we be sure thats not just a regular tire?
They had this neat slot car track, both Maggie & I sucked at it. Anybody recognize the name of the driver of this Pan America Race Car. Preston Tucker ran an Indy Car??????? I used to watch this car run at the Milwaukee Mile in the early 50's. The driver was Roger Ward. The Smokey Yunick sidepod car, the last time I saw this thing was in the basement of the Museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway about 15 years ago. It was in really rough shape, was great to see it looking as good as new. The infamous STP Turbine car, damn won the race but for a failed cheap bearing on the last lap. The last stop yesterday was at a car dealer near Auburn, He deals in real high end stuff, mostly Packards. I had to look at a car that a fellow HAMBer is considering, that car is not in the following pics as he does not want this public at this time. Packards,Packards and more Packards. The jewel of the place was this Chrysler Le Baron. It was Stunning, the best car I have seen, even in the museum. Now we get down back to earth with some thing that is almost affordable. One of the only about 400 Olds Fiesta's made. I remember these when they were new. Well that's about it for the left coast part of this trip, we are now headed east. Last night we were in Ellensburg Wa. tonight in Bozeman Mt. If I get any interesting pics on the way east I'll post them. BB
Bob, pm me your dates for next years trip. I need to plan family trips/time off and such. Already scheming places to lead you!
Another great road trip thread. Thanks a TON for posting everything... Have a safe trip back home, Bob and Maggie! Malcolm
Bob, You and Maggie are only a couple hours away but I'm slammed at work. Maybe next year on your way through. Take care, safe travels.
I only took one picture yesterday, of Maggie sleeping in the car, she won't let me post it. I'll see what I can find on the way to Dickinson ND. today. BB
I really like how happy you and your wife look! You are living the dream! Thanks again for dragging us along with you two.
