Damn, you're literally like a mile away from me! I'd love to come and help - but I may be in Vegas still for Sema. I can sling bondo w/ the best of 'em, and weld a thing or two if needed... Being so close, I can aid with any tools, also...

I can stop by with my unchopped '50 fleetline for reference, lets hope there's no snow on the ground by then!

In Nov., the beer will stay colder if left in the car for extended periods of time. I'm still game. I'll bring all my shoes....and a hairnet.

  6. That's a good thing..........not the hairnet...... but the cold beer :)

Escorts are expensive. Hookers on the other hand are dirt cheap in my part of town! The fire breathers are hard to come by.

  15. The Date is Nov. 5th and 6th sat/sun. It shouldn't be that cold. Last year it was nice up in to December.

I do have a propane heater in the garage I can fire up.

But I'm gonna chop it in the driveway. The garage is too small.

I would like to help! I have no chopping experience, although I am patient and work well with others (that's what my grade-school teachers always said anyway :D . I am not too far from you, 45 minutes or so.

  18. What can you do?

  19. Hey Cyclebilly, sorry bro. I didn't mean to imply that it was 50Chevy's. That's one badd car. How much did you take out? Anything you would have done different or pitfalls to watch out for? You got any pictures of the rear end so I can see how you finished off the area between the trunk and the bumper? Thanks.

Here's a photochop with about 4 or 5 inches taken out. If you're gonna chopit, might as well chop it, right?

I took 5-1/2" out of it. The a pillers shold be easy, just pie cut them to fit. you will have to move the b pillers back which shouldnt be a problem either. im assuming your going to shave the gas door right? because when you lower the trunk area the tube that the filler runs through might be in the way and you might have to cut it out. It wasnt a problem for mine cus i have the gas fill in the caddy tail light. The area between the trunk lid and the bumper is tricky. I can email you some detailed pictures of the back half if you want. I made a latch for the trunk and never even installed it. the weight of the trunk lid holds it down good.

  22. Nope, the windshield is cut two inches and layed back a few degrees.

This is great, there is never enought chopped fleetlines in the world.

I know my way of chopping needs lot of welding but I like the way it looks.
but you should remember you don´t have to chop fleetline as "much" as sedan/coupe because it is 1,5" lower than others(ok, cab is 1/2"lower)
I think most important thing to remember is when you chop fleet is that you dont get "negative angle" between back window and trunk.
I don´t want them to look like chopped sedan or coupe, it will destroy to look

    Kaitsu

Taillights i´m useing will be ´41 studebaker lights(repro)
