I am not familiar with GM markings, but recently picked up what was purported to be a 1932 Chevy frame. While working on it I noticed this stamp. Can anyone tell me what this stamp denotes? It is pretty large , over an inch in diam. and on the side of the front drivers frame rail.

    Thanks,

    HT

It designates it as a super chevy! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Not sure, but wouldn't be surprised to learn it was manufactured at the Saginaw plant?

  3. Is there any other kind of Chevy?

It was made out of Steel!

(actually I don't know, but my guess would be that it's from a stamping plant. I seem to recall seeing it on my 39 Chevy frame, also)

  5. I have the same on one of my old Chevrolet chassis.
