Yea going with the trim ring this one is 1950 up merc style. Need a 1948 smooth style trim ring to try. Darrell
Brian you could still buy them from me but the price is way up there now that I love then now. Nexted year I think the red spokes will be hanging on the wall alot. And thanks for the great comments. Darrell
Everyone has their favorite, mine would be the chrome center with the blue rim and trim ring in the last picture of the first post.
Well didn't make it out last year but nothing stopping me this year. Here they are ready for 2013.Darrell
Looks great! There will only be one in a thousand that will know what they are or appreciate the effort it took.
Proartguy I have to thank you again you were a great help earlier thanks. And you are right not to many people will know what these wheel are.Darrell The pictures don't so it but the wheels are a little darker they match the pin strip.
Stunning. What a unique and individual choice. I say by mid June you become irritated from explaining what they are to so many. That is unless you really like a lot of that. I promise not to ask when I see it
Maybe I should make a sign for the wheels explaining what they are.I might just change the story every time that will mess every one up.So far around town old guys know what they are young guys say they like the new white walls. It had whites last year they just know the wheels are different but don't know why yet.Everyone seems to like them.Darrell
When I saw the pics on the first page, I was not sold AT ALL on them. But these last pics look great on there.
These old ads often show blackwall tires. I started collectign these General Tire images, becuase my Diamond T was a General Tire service truck.
I have this sigh the emblem on the sign matches the hub caps on my car.Sign is like 70" by 20" wide.Darrell
Supremes and narrow white wall would be better fit with this body color. Those wheels you are jugging are suited for neutral or dark earth tones. Chrome reverse and those WW W's would look early sixties to again go with this bright color.
This is a very cool look, glad to see your going with this look. Very cool looking with the baby blue paint job a very '50's look. CRUISER
Yes, I like that crest. I posted more of my General Tire history research at http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8906983#post8906983
I like the new look. The body color and the wide whites tie it all together. They look great! I agree with the highlander on the questions. No regular people will know what the wheels are and very few hot rodders will know them either. Thats kind of COOL!
