Looking for recomendations for: Chassis paint (semi gloss black) will be covering encapsulated rust colored metal, bare metal and fiberglass roll cage paint both type and brands i.e. base coat clear coat etc.
there isnt anything wrong with rustoleum or por15.i usually use industrial enamel from sherwin-williams.por15 likes rust but doesnt like smooth surfaces.if you want to go with b/c i like crossfire from napa.WAY more expensive then enamel.and if you want it to cure out fast you can put some enamel hardener in it.
I use epoxy from a company called Southern Polyurethanes Inc(SPI).It comes in black and is tough as nails. Its also very cost effective.I own a body shop and every car I restore gets SPI on the chassis.I would recommend sand blasting any metal to get rid of the rust and insure a long lasting finish.
Several companies sell an epoxy Chassis & Rollbar paint in fufu cans. VHT is one, PJ1 another. Larry T
