Artie’s Party is the fund-raising event that features over 50 pinstripe and airbrush artists who create works of art for auction during the Syracuse Nationals. Artie also added, "One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auctions will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York. Schilling, owner of East Coast Artie’s of Surf Side Beach, SC, is a long-time race aficionado, who in his younger years drove a top-fuel dragster, and funny car. Artie said the idea of bringing old race cars to one spot for visitors to enjoy, has been a great addition to Artie's Party. Gasoline Alley brings together at least 40 nostalgic race cars including dragsters, gassers, super stocks, funny cars, oval track, and sports cars. In 2015, Artie enlisted “Dino” Lawrence to coordinate the Nostalgia Race Car Exhibit. Dino is a lettering artist & pinstriper, and like Artie, has a long history of motorsports experience. Dino was the track announcer at the old Dover Drag Strip, and operated a 50’s style cruise night in Bethel, C.T. He currently is the owner of Carolina Signworks in Rockingham, N.C., and directs the annual Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags at Lebanon Valley Dragway.
