I just got a gas tank for my 64' Dodge, I was wondering what people recommend to use to paint it? I know Eastwood sells some specialty product just for tanks, but I think it just has some zinc additive to it. Can I just zinc primer the tank and then paint it with regular paint? Or if I just spray it with some regular paint will that work? I'd rather find something locally, but I want to do it right and have it last. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  2. If it's a new re-popped tank, use nothing. (no sending unit grounding issues) If it's used, POR 15.(You'll need an auxiliary ground wire from tank to frame for your gas gauge to work) Also, if its used, I'd have it boiled out then sealed on the inside, as well.

Cold galvanizing is pretty close to Eastwood's Tank-Tone. Available at hardware stores. Lot cheaper, too
