Gas line

I'm starting to think about running gas line on my modified.
What size(1/4"-5/16"-3/8") and can I used compression fittings in lue of flaired ends?
The engine is a Chevy 292/6.

i'd run 3/8" steel flaired lines , no compression fittings. you can buy pre-flaired pieces in variuos lengths and if you do a little planning , you can sometimes run the lines without making any flairs yourself

 

yea if you have room go with the 3/8". also no comp fittings there not worth the risk.
