Nice day in Oregon so was able to roll out a few of the toys and snap some photos. Didn't come out to bad. Let's see some other garage shots with some cool toys.
Do a search, but spell garage with an extra r. Great thread, but the meathead that started it failed 2nd grade spelling!
Jim that 5-Window is a sweet ride. Do you have more photos of the car? I am going to get started on my 34 5-window here at the end of summer and could use a little motivation.
I think this was done before but who cares, Pics not great here. 28 RPU, 70 Torino rag, 68 Royal Enfield bobber. Little of all the worlds
Not really HAMB old stuff, but you asked. At least ones a 56 though. Oops, here's part of the garage too.
OK the checkered rubber flooring...what is the advantage to it? I have seen it in a few places and I want to know what the advantages are....just askin....
Here are some pics from a few years back. The yellow car is in the shop that is behind the pkps in the larger area shot. Kinda tight but it works for me.
Why do you put paint on the walls? It looks good thats why ! That should be an easy question to answer yourself I think.
I get the fact that people think it looks good...but that was not the question...I asked IF there was an advantage to it...... Sorry to ask if there was an advantage...next time I will just refrain from asking....thanks....
It was a gift from Anne, my wife of 35+ years, so it stays. That's what she calls the Corvette and it's always worth some laughs when people see it. The trophy collection, is mostly from back in my drag racing days. Worth having and keeping as many are from the Famous dragstrips that are long gone. Like a few from 1967, 68, 69, 70 period from the old Irwindale Raceway. They are out there with my other nostalgia stuff. Plus I don't have to hear about "someone" having to dust them anymore. As to the flooring, it's easier on your back and a lot less noisy, when dropping tools and parts. NOT that I've ever dropped any myself. Actually, the racedeck came with this house. We just bought the place in May of 09, but I love the look and am glad it's there. Hope that helps.
Your question didn't bother me. In addition to what I've mentioned above, I find it easier to keep clean. If you spill oil or whatever on it, you just wipe it off. You know what a mess normal concrete can be, once it gets a bunch of stains going. Also easier on the legs and back for me. I'm not a young pup anymore(67), so that works for me too. It seems to absorb some of the noise in there too, maybe just me, but it seems quieter with it. Hope that helps.
Well, thank you for the answer. That is what I was actually wondering. I figured there was an advantage and I just wanted to know what it was other then simple looks...
Agree with 59Kustom - Look up the "Lets see whats in your Garrage!!!!" thread. Its absolutly amazing. Be prepared to spend some time wiping up your drool.
Crystal Blue, that is way better than nothing!! I remember well being out side under a car with a tarp over it and it was snowing..Didn't even have a salamander heater to blow warmth up my butt..South facing entry works well here in CT..Now have heat, ac, lift, and just need a little energy boost!! Just under 1500 sq ft of house, just over 1800 sq ft of garage..ya, I know, proportion still not right but best I could do...
Add a Shot of Hot Rod Grill and I in the shop when I was there the over the 4Th .One of him making a real Sundae for my son also .
