I recently installed functional lakepipes on my 53. I was wondering, when you run them capped, do you use a gasket with the cap or no gasket?

Ive never run lakes til now and never once looked at this.

    Thanks!

I run gaskets in mine so I don't have to tighten the caps too much to keep them from wispering.

  3. I ran without gaskets forever, but I also think now that my car is one colour (white), that I'm gonna put some gaskets on to try and keep carbon down.

These were run with baffles. It was so loud, I disconnected them and now run glasspacks underneath. I kept the pipes on in case the car sells and the new owner wants to run them open.
