Update, the top part of the 54 merc quarter/taillight is all welded in....

There's a little bit of lead that has to be melted out so Manual can get a good weld in there

You can see better with this pic how once rolled it will flow into the trunk area very well

Great build....I like the 2 bar rear set up. I may mimic it if my air over bags doesn't work out as well as i want it too.

Thanks, if you don't want to modify your transmission tunnel or rear seat area it's the only way to go!

Great work so far, I like what you've done with the taillights/rear fender.

Damn buddy...not sure how this thread slipped thru the cracks but I just read all 15 pages! Great build.... I dig what your doing with the body mods and all, its going to be a great looking custom when your done! Also I noticed you changed your rear set up, I did the same with mine and was able to get it lower to match the front drop and never touched my rear floor pans! Keep at it.. cant wait to see more!

Thanks everyone, I originally did the 4 link setup but did not like the extensive fabrication needed inside the car. The 2 link setup came from Manuel and Roy, they run it on all their cars. Pm loco 52 ragtop on here, they are the ones who did it for me......

I need to plumb the fuel line and then we will be putting the body back on the frame
Thanks man...I've been planning what I will do for a while. It has gone through many changes in my mind, (just dropped, no chop, the list goes on and on), hopefully after everything is done it will set it apart from all the other 53/54's at the shows....

What is really nice about this is the appearance of length it adds to the quarter. The top of the curve of the 54 merc quarter is fairly close to where the original tail light was located. With the added material on the bottom length is added to the quarter......More to come
