So there's a chance that fendered hot rods are traditional?

Cars like this appeal to me,and always have the only draw back for me is my size,at 6'4" I don't enjoy driving a heavy chopper car anymore. HRP

Yea, fenders are shur purty, but wasn't the idea behind Hot Rods to reduce weight? So.......?

  22. I bet at least half the cars in early magazines had fenders. Now a days, guys have the mindset that all cars must be highboys or they are "stock". And I bet total weight of fenders ,running boards, bumpers, brackets... can't be more then 200 lbs. On a street car (or "hot rod") that's not going to effect anything.

what kills me is they always say they are taking them off because "hot rods are all about performance" then they want to put 3.08 gears in the back...

  24. Not on your life. :D

I actually plan to eventually put fenders on my A, if I live that long that is. Of course my build is based on what a young beaner would have done in about '62-65. He never was very good at the rules. Maybe if I check out before its done the next owner will honor my wishes.
