fuel pump wiring

    hi i would like to know if anyone can help. I have a 87 chev drive train in my 48 chev. I need to know what wire is the power wire for the fuel pump it has one red and one brown wire with white stripes and a groung i need to know what wire hooks up to power

    You should have the wiring diagram for the donor vehicle to be sure.
    It would help if you had mentioned what model and engine too.
    I looked for 1987 Chevy wiring diagrams online, and the info was poor.
    Most showed a Black wire for the ground (very common GM color for ground).
    Red is commonly Power.
    Brown with a White stripe may be switched relay power.
    Fuel pumps should run through a relay due to the high amperage draw.
