For those of you running rochester 3x2 what Fuel pressure are you running? I had to run a aftermarket pump and the low pressure regulator goes 2-4psi and the high is 4 1/2 - 9 psi, need to get one ordered to finish up my setup. Thanks, Joe.

Buy the 4.5-9 PSI pump and use a regulator with a fuel pressure gauge. Set the regulator at the lowest limit and leave it there. 4.5-5 PSI should be enough for those carbs. Hope that helps! :)

Well the pump puts out 40psi, the regulators are 2-4psi and 4 1/2-9psi. What are you running on your set up for pressure?

I'm using a Holley "blue" pump with the regulator set at 6 psi for a BG "Gold Claw" 4-V carb.

  5. Yup, low pressure, under 5psi

You sure the pump puts out 40 psi?? If so, that will ruin a regulator!! I'd switch to a Holley blue pump or a black one...

Well the stock pump wouldn't clear the frame so I am running a mechanical pump that is just a small cylinder shape and it's max rated at 40 psi, and says can be regulated down to 4psi at the lowest. All I need to know is someone who has a running setup what the psi is it's running at. Thanks, Joe

I hear ya on the stock pump, I would like to have used one but it wouldn't work with my frame. I'm going to get the 4-1/2 to 9 psi regulator and see how it works.

Run 3-31/2lbs. on my '57 factory tri power with no problem, they don't like higher pressure as the outside carbs will some times flood. There are specific needle and seats for the outside carbs for that reason. Check out www.pontiactripower.com they will hook you up with all you need to know!
