I been working on this sculpture its a old guide headlight Grimlock sent me a kawie tank I got from purple a air horn from a boat for a tail and some boat crome for a nose rod for arms and leg its gonna get some big ole claws on it and some goofy eye`s made out of old gauges it looks way kooler in person than in a photo
I did comic books in the past...I normally won't admit to having any drawing skills...but I did some comic strips as a promo deal for some local bands back in the 90s. I tried to sneak some cars into the story lines when I could... ...here's the opening frame to one of them, a Halloween booklet I did for a cover band: Yeah, yeah...I know...IFS, big block Chevy and a visor...this was 1995...I thought it was a cool band-rod! They dug it!
My all time favorite comic strip has GOT to be Calvin & Hobbes, though! (Followed closely by B.C., Overboard, Luann and Drabble!) I came up with this...intending to have it made into a vinyl sticker for the tank on my old Kawasaki... Sold the bike before I got that far...but saved the drawing 'cause I kinda liked it!
FatLucky's, you're too much...I think I'm gonna have to get those van seats done very soon! Everytime I see your work it knocks me out.
Here's something recently done by a talented HAMBer from the East Coast, "Delaware George." The guy's a tattooist by trade and a painter on the side. Nice work........
Glad ya liked my simple cartoons! Here's another one of my own all time favorites!!... Ha Ha Ha...okay, a little explanation here! First off, I drew this on a shuttle schedule sheet when I was still driving a passenger shuttle. I'd often do doodles while sitting at my stops and rockin' to the stereo! This one was inspired by an overly gung-ho rookie Dearborn cop who pulled my buddy and I over one night...for riding double on a moped! This guy was a piece of work...it was about 1:30am and we were quietly riding along in a residential area... ...this clown sees us go by as he passes, then lights up the Whelens, kicks on the siren, and does a smokey donut in an intersection to come after us! We thought he just got a call or something, so I just eased over to the curb to let him go by and kept rolling along. He comes flying up behind us, spotlight all over us, lights going of, hitting the siren and SCREAMING over the PA speaker! I mean, he did everything but shoot out the tires! I pulled over, and he came screeching up behind us...jumps out of his car with his hand on his gun, and assumes his "attack crouch" position behind the fender of his car as he screams out instructions! He must have awakened everyone in a four blaock radius with his routine! We were trying our best not to laugh! The whole thing kept us in stitches for YEARS afterward! While I was drawing this...someone peeked over my shoulder and asked how he was driving with both hands out the window shooting...so I came up with the elaborate "set the cruise control and steer with your foot" scenario you see played out here! One of my best works...based on a true story, too!!
this Forty was painted in acrylics some 20 years ago,,,my wifes old HOT ROD,,,,,,,Gone but not forgotten! HRP
[ QUOTE ] Here's a bike seat I tossed together today- [/ QUOTE ] Tossed together? sheesh? that's beautiful! Can you do something similar on a banana seat? Not while sitting on a banana seat, but the same kinda sparkle vinyl and pinstripe design. Unless you would like to sit on a banana seat while while stiching up another banana seat... That's entirely up to you... PM me with a rough $$ quote, if you want to do one. ...I would think that a regular chair would be more comfortable ...but that's just me ...I shouldn't judge.
high standard again this week...wish i could make models like them...love monsters `t`....anyway heres my weekly contribution, done while laying in bed most of the week with a f****d up back....my scanner is absolutely shit monkey monkey-inc
Barnett- I recognize this routine, butter me up with compliments and then try to get a discount. By the way, have I told you lately how awesome your paintings are?
FatLucky's...is it workin' yet? Johnny...did you finish the side of your truck yet? What did you think of the sketch? c'mon...PAINT THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK ALREADY!!!!!!
Dan...as usual, your concepts are great! The truck crapped out right in front of ModernBeat's former place of employment! It's in Houston right now getting a Norge-type beating back into shape....no big paint graph-icks til I get her back.....btw...art related gripe here...I spent 200. bucks on brushes and paint and got to carry it out in ONE LITTLE BAG!!
Here's a sketch I did for a buddy with a GTO...it was going to be the basis of an airbrushed image on the decklid, but I ain't no painter! He wanted a "trophy girl" picture, this was the best I could do at the time! He got a copy of the picture and I kept the original. One of few "vintage" Fat Hack drawings that I haven't thrown out yet!
Thanks, Steve! I do all sorts of styles, but those simple ones with kinda-stick people tell the story in a few quick strokes of the pen, and are still funny!
Thanks to Gowjobs, Surf Monkey and StevesGalaxie. The Terrible Grape kit was originally the kit called the "Big T". It's an old 1/16 scale kit, and its been alot of fun so far! Heres some line drawings I did on thursday. The top one you saw colored in last weeks art show (green five), But I like the line drawing of it just as much.
Monster, You have some nice work. Love your line drawings! Damn, I wish I knew where I could buy a bag of talent for myself!
Here is a peice of wall art that Dan the man Barnett striped for me. I painted and hand rubbed the laquer, did the engine turning on a peice of stainless, and made the dummy latch (so it can hang flat on a wall). Dan did the cool part It is a glove box door off of a '64 Falcon. My girlfriend wanted a red convert for her birthday, so this is the best I could do Sorry, I had to dumb down the pic a bit. It looks way better in person.
Hey Walt, thanks for posting that...it was good to do some work for someone as appreciative as yourself! You did a real nice job on spraying that glovebox and doing the machine work on the stainless...artwork in it's own right!
I did anudder one tonite!
Well, it's late but here is a pin I striped this week, got to get another color on it when I get another spare two minutes to play.
Kinda cold this morning...so I sat down and came up with one more for the weekend. It just happened! Believe it or not, I started out to draw a Hack-toon of Nads' car...and THIS is what fell outta my pen! I always had a hard time PLANNIG my drawings...they just sorta HAPPEN! What started out as a 'tooned up Nads coupe turned into my subconscious rendering of it I suppose! I dig 33-34 three window coupes, and six bangers rule! The character could be me...a fat monster, or...it could be a cool & cranky Florida dweller!!! Who knows? I'm always just as surprised as everyone else with what I draw!
