a few months ago (or longer) i was reading a thread that gave a link for free haynes manuals. it was from a state library (somewhere north, illinois, minnesota maybe). anyway. i thought i saved it somewhere. of course i cant find it. i searched and cant figure out what thread i was reading. if anyone has this info i would appreciate the heads up.
It was Chilton manuals. Here's the link: https://elibrary.mel.org/validate?url=http%3A%2F%2F0-infotrac.galegroup.com.elibrary.mel.org%3A80%2Fitweb%2Flom_accessmich%3Fdb%3DCHLL The login license number is: F123456789123
Well it's any letter & 12 numbers, some of the manual are good & some are plain generic,-----but hey it's free!
Haynes or Chiltons are ok for the lighter work a guy does on his car but I'd rather spend the money to get a factory service manual that was the same one actually used in dealer shops. The old ones especially had a very understandable reading level. In those days the tech writers wrote the the manuals for guys with very basic reading skills and you don't have to guess what they mean in the instructions. The old Motor manuals and National service manuals are also keepers
