Asking for a friend, V8 60, has trans attached. No carb, turns freely, was stored indoors.
I’m thinking there’s someone out there that would like to have this, what to pay if he wants to flip it. Thanks

I bid on one at a local auction about 2 years ago. It was a tinside, complete with transmission and carburetor, but would't turn and was overall pretty grubby. I dropped out at $200 and it went for $850

That will give you an idea of the prices higher than the actual transaction prices. Make note of the original listing date and the number of bumps...

Tin side or iron side? Is it 37-39 or a 1940?

I got 750 for a rebuilt tin side recently and 1000 for a good iron side engine. No tranny with either just complete engines. I was very happy with those prices. Most of the other 15 v8 60s I had were unknown condition... And I got 350-450 for the complete ones and a lot less for the partially disassembled ones.

My avatar had a v8 60 in it and was a disappointment, fit nice and looked great but no low end torque. I had 2 extra engines and lots of parts and sold them at a swap meet probably 20 years ago for $1500 so prices have held for a long time. Not much of a street motor but the vintage midget guys still want them, run great above 2500 rpm. They were in midgets and small race boats since they were small and light. I'd say the $750 to $1000 dollar range is probably right.

When Honest Charley was making V8-60 bikes he had a stsnding offer to buy V8-60 engines. Don't know if he's still making them. Check him out.
