Features Ford Thunderbolts Photos Wanted

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Troublemaker427, Oct 11, 2006.

  1. Anybody know what "real" ones sell for these days, I haven't seen one on the market in a while?

    Thanks...

  3. Yes, the Hullabaloo is an original Thunderbolt. It was originally Dick Brannan's car, the first 'bolt built. This was discussed earlier in this thread and has been confirmed by me. Many people changed the hoodscoops to forward facing as these cars became just another old race car in the later '60's.....

A "real one" that was restored back to "as raced condition" recently sold for $330,000.00 at auction. I feel this is a little over current market value, but it was a very nicely done car. The selling of the car at auction most lilely contributed to inflating the price a bit...

    I've been sitting on a 1967 "W" code 427 fairlane for a few years.

It was found in a barn in Utah...(Morman farmer)..

The car is 99% original and never raced, he used it to get to town in a hurry. (70+ miles)

It's red with a black vinyl top, Radio delete with a factory ford 8track player.

I'm still trying to collect the needed FE parts $$$$.

I've always heard of the '63 Fairlane Thunderbolt but never have seen any pics of it.

Here are two of my Dad's 63 1/2 factory light weight. He raced it in the late 60's and sold it when I was born. Sold it for $750 with blown motor in 72. I think the guy he sold it to still has it.

When I lived in CO there was one that set out behind a guys garage. A couple of guys at work approached him about selling and he just about pulled a gun on them. Last time I asked.................... Just sitting there, no cover, nothing just wasting away. Sad.

  17. Bob Glidden also drove this car for Harold. This is also the original Gas Ronda car now owned by Willie D. Smith in Fl.

I was just about to post one of humpin henry, but a54studebaker had a nice shot of it , this one is of a car that belongs to a friend ,never had the nerve to ask him if it's the real deal, but knowing this guy and his integrity I don't think he would pass it off as real if it wasn't,also it kept company with all kinds of rare ford exotica including a boss 429

  21. How about Emett Austin racing Al Vander Woude at Lions? I have no clue where I got this shot; maybe SS&DI.

If anybody cares Dick Brannan's replica '64 T-bolt is at the Studebaker museum here in South Bend, IN. Along with a partial replica of a lighweight Galaxie and some other amazing Studes!
