Recently went with my brother in law to his mates workshop and started having alook around at some of his projects. Then out side in the back of the yard he had a bare English Ford pop body. So I asked him what he wanted for it, and to my amazement I was told if I help him out I can have it...So really can't argue with that. I have always wanted a pop but could never affored one, I also know the look I want to achieve but am not sure what style it is... So my plan... Ford pop body, chopped 3" channeled over frame , rear fenders but no front fenders. Original frame up to the fire wall then from the firewall forward a 31 model a frame. 36 Ford Bango rear. 2" Dropped front axle set up/ split wish bones. Sbc 283 tri power. Any thoughts or opinions would be really appreciated.
Just to confuse things even more.....some guys don't like the prefect front sheet metal and fit pop/Anglia stuff.......there ya go HRP.....I thought i,d post these as found on the net......Bob
Always heard the "three holer" Anglia grilles were kinda rare (U.S.). What's the story; two hole versus 3 hole grille openings?
Well you fat fingered the key board, 28-31 was model A. I wouldn't bother grafting another front on the chassis just cut whatever is in the way out and throw a Mode A or A type cross member in there for your cross leaf. I have never seen one without front fenders, at least not that I remember but if you don't want them just take them off, and create some headlight mounts on the frame horns. I don't know what you want the banjo rear but if you do you are probably going to want to run coil overs. or coil springs or a cross leaf in the rear as well. I don't recall a banjo being popular rears for those but I am not as old as everyone else. A cut down Olds or ford rear would have been the rear of choice until they were allowed to run big engines then a spicer 60 became popular.
That looks like a nice build. More pictures? They look good lowers with a rake, so it tugs the tires in the fenders.
