The 52-53 OHV Ford six was 215 Cubic inches. They look similar to a 223, but there are several differences aside from displacement. First year of the 223 was 1954.
The biggest difference between the two blocks, other then displacement, is the location of the distributor and consequently the oil pump in the pan.
6015-B is a basic part # for block, whether it’s a 6-cyl. or a Boss 429 . Not sure about the three letters, most have four numbers / letters for the year, plant, type of vehicle….
In the most basic terms if it has a valve cover it is a 215. If it has a flathead it is a 226. I was around in those days but was only six years old and wasn't much into F1 fords at the time. I don't know if both engines were available all of the 52 Model year or if the 215 replaced the flathead mid year. One of my high school buddies had a sweet little 53 F1 with a 215 that wasn't fast but was dead nuts reliable even though the girls didn't want to be seen riding in a Pickup in 1963.
If it is actually a '52 and a flathead, it is the truck version and 254 cu. in. The 226 flathead car version was discontinued after '51 and replaced with the 215 overhead..
