Just put a clutch in buddies 63' Galaxie. 390 4-speed car. Went to top off trans with gear oil but it looked like ATF was in it. What should be used? Thanks

use ONLY good old 90 wt. Dont let anyone talk You into using synthetic or shifting troubles will occur. The syncros dont like synthethic and it finds its way outside somehow?? Read leak. David Kee reccomends just 90 wt in all His toploaders. FEDER

  5. 390 4 speed car, if it's original should be a Top Loader - the bad ass 4 speed trans. 90wt is the proper gear oil for these.
