Folks I need the advise of someone who has used both the 39 and an earlier Ford transmission. Last year I was fortunate enough to race my A-V8 in TROG. My enhanced 59ab performed beyond my expectations but the transmission(a 35) left a lot to be desired. If I started and remained in 2nd gear I won, try to for 3rd and I got hosed. At 82 I just can't double clutch and speed shifting isn't doable so I was wondering if moving up to a 39 transmission with what I hear is much better synchronization allow me to achieve faster shift times. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pothole

i've never used a "pre 39" type of trans, but they are synchronized, and if not worn out you should not have to double clutch. some guys like em, but they rebuild them to work properly too
