hello everybody I have 35 Ford wire wheels just wondering for a project. So will like to know if somebody have adapted a disk brake on it in my research I found that Ford f150 have the same hole patern
You have to use an adapter to mount them on most hubs, if you don't support the wheel where the lugs are they crack. The adapters are available through several vendors, check Speedway. I've ran them on several cars without problems, they are on my avatar and 30 pickup.
I've got three sets of wires for various projects and got sticker shock when I priced tires for these wheels. Not many choices for 4" wide rims except Coker.
Not much room for disk calipers. The inner ring around the mounting flange is the problem. You end up with a really thick wheel spacer and the whole disk assembly will be out in the air. It is not a pretty look. I had a car like that and it was terrible. Your wheel scrub line will also move out at the expense of nice steering.
Speedway makes Adapter/spacers for wire wheels on newer hubs/axles. I'm running 5x4.5 disc on the front of my model A with 35 Ford wires. Sent from my XT1585 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
