CAR HAS SOLD AS OF 7/12/19

Finally decided to sell the Comet I built in 2012. Driven less than 2,000 miles. Built with all the Crites Restoration parts to duplicate the original A/FX Comets in 1964. Engine block is a NOS 1968 427 FE bored and stroked to 488 ci. Dyno sheet shows 603 hp and 548 torque. Dual 780 cfm quick-fuel carbs spec'd by Barry Robotnick of Survival Motorsports based on cam, heads, intake, compression, etc. Intake and heads designed by Ray Paquet (long time FE Super Stock Thunderbolt racer) is a 2x4 high riser with a custom low profile to fit under a standard hood. They were cast by Dove Engineering. Jim Dove told me the flow numbers on Ray's design are significantly higher than the original Ford High Risers. I have written documentation from Jim Dove about the design of the heads and intake set. Manley 2.25" intake and 1.75" exhaust valves. Comp solid roller cam, lifters, and valve springs with .686" lift intake and .644" exhaust. All forged rotating assembly: Scat steel crank, Callies H beam rods, and Diamond pistons. Clevite bearings, blueprinted melling high volume oil pump. 10.7 compression runs great on 91 octane but does like the 110. Transmission is a built TKO 600 from Liberty Gears that has all of their internal parts surface treatments. Fifth gear is a true overdrive with a 0.64 ratio that allows cruising at 70-72 mph at 1800 rpm. McLeod 11" flywheel, clutch, and hydraulic throw out bearing. Currie 9" rear axle housing with their external cross bracing. Moser nodular third member with a Detroit Locker, 4.30 ratio and 35 spline Moser axles. Wilwood 11" discs in front and 11 inch drums rear. Entire front suspension replaced when built in 2012. TCI heim joint upper control arms allow easy adjustment of front end alignment. No longer have to use the metal clips that insert between control arm and frame. Dougs Headers electric exhaust cutouts. (Note: exhaust system from the header collectors back can be removed in one piece by unbolting from the collectors and removing 4 hanger brackets).

Wimbledon white exterior and new original OEM Palomino interior. Gauge cluster rebuilt, re-chromed, and odometer set to zero mileage so what is shown is correct for the entire driveline. Bucket seats are the Bostrom style used in the original A/FX Comets. Crites frame connectors welded to entire floor pan, shock tower conversion, motor mounts, A/FX traction bar setup, front and rear driveshaft safety loops, and Crites fiberglass twin snorkel hood with custom dual quad air cleaner seal to fit against hood. Have lots of extra parts to go with car including set of like new American Racing Torq Thrust wheels and tires, set of Wimbledon white steel wheels: 2 - 4" wide and 2 - 8" wide with tires. Also have a set of Wimbledon white steel 8" wheels with 9.5 inch M&H slicks that still have the rubber mold marks on the surface.
