I know you are suppost to use NEW flywheel bolts each tome you reinstall a flywheel. But the so called replacements called out for my 73 Mustang 302 (in my '29 Willys)have a longer thread than the ones that came out. The overall length is the same, 1", but the head is thinner on the new ones and they bottom out before they tighten up against the flywheel. Both the old and new bolts have the built in washer step on the underside of the head. I checked 4 parts stores yesterday and all the replacements were the same. I have never used a washer on flywheel bolts, but am going to either have to do that or use the old bolts with some locktight and hope for the best. You guys have any thoughts or experience with this problem????? Thanks
