Floor pan replacement

    When doing floor pan replacement (about a 10"x10" section) should I lineup and butt weld the new pan in, or cut the patch larger and flange it?

    best way is no overlap. plan to replace more then you think. if there are pin holes figure 3" around them. if there are floor braces make sure to spray weld thru primmer where they are so new metal will not rot out sooner then it should.

    butt weld. flanging is for sissies

    a good job is all in the fitment of the panel. I like a gap about the thickness of the wire all around.
